It's been a while since I've updated any of my online pages.
Going back and reading old entries is kind of funny.
Animals
Carl died :( To be fair, he turned 3 in January, and rats just don't live long enough. He had been fighting off paralysis for a long time, until his last final weeks when I had to hand-feed him baby food. He never did like health food, it must have been the blended peas that finally did him in. I miss him.
Last December, Samedi got a female guinea pig (black Abyssinian) and named her Hyena because of her mohawk and "woop woop" call. She ended up being pregnant and popped out one little boy piggy (silver agouti with red eyes - WTF?), who is currently crying because I had to separate him from his mummy tonight. I've claimed him, he's MY piggy, and I'm calling him Boris :)
(Sa)Di(e) was given to us as a guard dog since we live downtown. She's a Newfoundland/Akita - Xbox HUEG dog. I haven't tried weighing her but there's no way she weighs less than 120 lbs. She's well-trained but always starved for attention, so she'll sit right in front of the TV, creep up into bed, etc. When she tries to climb into the recliner, you can hear the chair pop and groan underneath her.
Conclusion: I live with 2 guinea pigs and a horse-sized dog. NONE of which I ever foresaw I'd have. I thought we would be living in an apartment with a boring old cat or something.

Absolutely NOTHING accomplished! Work has really just eaten up that much of my time, and then I spend much of my R&R reading other people's webcomics instead of touching my own pencils to a piece of paper. I could go get a drawing tablet now - but I've sort of fallen into the habit of not being creative anymore.
I plan on opening an account on Comic Genesis, and I'll probably go back to Deviantart, as well. But I'd like to dip into something a little more professional.
Gaming
Still playing Spore. I'm still disappointed with it, but I like to obsessively make new creatures and play them through to the civilization stage.
Finally had time to beat Pokemon Pearl (doc made me stay out of work a few days with a sinus infection - yay! *hacksnortcough*), now starting on The World Ends with You. I still haven't played the new rehash of Chrono Trigger yet, either, so my game library is just GLARING at me.
I played Street Fighter 4. This just in: I still suck.
I would like to beat Fallout 3, but haven't really touched it since the last downloadable content came out.
ETC.
Oh, shit! I almost forgot....
HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!!
I'm going to drink some fucking green beer!

It's been a long past couple of months. Or maybe too short - I can't believe its almost Christmas.
I've been working so much, I haven't had a whole lot of time for just chillin out. They changed my hours, I'm trying to get my hours changed again, and I probably won't hear back from them for half a year. I'd be cool with my job, but it's one of those places that changes the rules all the time, and nobody ever knows what's going on, and then the customers rag on us about it.
Mister Pugface got deathly ill at the end of October, and almost died. He was a trooper through the whole thing, and even though he had bouts of looking like he was giving up, he would still try to wag his tail or beg for attention. Brave, brave pup - he lived, and is very healthy. In fact, he was looking kind of porky as soon as he was able to eat again. Now he's building some muscle, and for being shin-high, he is very strong. Marv's even created a new game where he lowers his head and rams into kitties to knock them off of their feet. It's pretty amusing to watch, but I'm sure its not very fun for the cat in question and their owners don't appreciate it. He hasn't tried it at the vet's office, though - there's at least a dozen cats sitting in the waiting room, but they're all three times bigger than he is. (2009 Edit: Marv Pugface no longer lives with me - he is staying with my mom because - well, I guess he's just more of an old people dog. Our house is noisy and not nearly as full of comfortable blankets and pillows. He comes to visit, though.)
The WoW expansion has gone beyond my expectations - my paladin (yes, I play a blood elf... .... stop looking at me like that...) is only 75 and I've barely touched the hunter, but I only get to play for a couple hours late at night. Still, it's been really neat. The new battleground is wicked fun.
As far as my other nerd hobbies, Samedi and I have been catching up on Stargate: Atlantis. I was never interested in the series before (even though I was obsessed with the original movie when I was little), but after the first couple of episodes, I had to know what happened next, and it just went from there.
I haven't been able to draw lately, but I have a lot of ideas brewing. I need to get them on paper.

I was going to bury Ziggy Rat about a week after he passed away. Yes, I know that's some very creepy procrastination - I kept his body in a box. When I went to bury him a few days ago... he was GONE! The little blanket he was tightly wrapped in was still all wrapped up. Ziggy Rat = Jesus Rat?
Work last week was a strange combination of drudgery and fun. Expecting the latter to putter out, as now that I'm on the floor I won't be able to goof around with friends as much.
Been wanting to get around to doing some IC journal and finish my char's Wiki, but haven't been in the mood or had much time for it. Played the game Castle Crashers on the 360 with Samedi and the drublic punk, it's really fun - I haven't played a good game on Xbox in a while. Gonna go play again tonight. Also, Spore is nifty - there's a few other games I want to try when/if I get the chance.
I hadn't been playing WoW much, but started to play lately in anticipation of the expansion. Of course, I go to log in on my day off and my account bit the dust, and my money hasn't gone through at my bank yet (3 days guys? c'mon, wtf!). So I gotta wait to play. Went back to the Alliance, kind of wish I didn't let my stuff fall behind, but it's not that bad.

Haven't updated in a while. About a month ago, Samedi and I got a puppy. His name is Marv (after the guy from Sin City) and he's become quite a spoiled brat. Already so attached to him. I got to see him when he was only 2 weeks old - bought him at 6 weeks, now he is 11 weeks. Already quite a bit larger than his siblings, who I saw not too long ago. Very outgoing, a complete jerk. I lurv puppy :3

I got the call today that I got the job that I've been gunning for - basically sitting in a cubicle answering questions about computers for eight hours a day. Each check will be nearly three times what I've earned before. My first suit 'n tie job.

"Cancer, the fourth sign of the zodiac, is a water sign, which signifies your highly emotional nature. Being under the sway of the element of water also makes you highly caring, generous and intuitive. You are highly evolved, even spiritual — the water signs are karmically developed and refined in spirit.
Water is malleable and adaptable. You are very much like that. You adapt when you have to, but you much prefer to make changes on your own terms. Like water, you are soothing and nourishing too. Life-supporting energies are at the heart of your character. You will act as a support for many people — in your own family and beyond.
You reflect the qualities of the changing Moon. This means that at times your emotions get the better of you, and you swing from high to low. Family and friends will be well aware of this, but they will not doubt your loyalty and supportiveness. Another aspect of the Moon that sometimes doesn’t work well for you is its maternal nature. You sometimes veer too close to the mothering/smothering lane, which can put people off. Because the Moon’s domain is the night, many Cancerians are night owls. From twilight on, your creativity starts to flow and you feel at home — you have a strong affinity with lunar energies. This is a good time to get into writing, meditating, or just walking in the moonlight. All these will energise you. You love the stillness and mystery of the night."

I've been happy. And it's great.
I finally just stopped giving a shit about people who have proven to be fair-weather friends, and it's made a world of difference. Granted, I rarely contact other people outside of my initial group. Sometimes, I do, particularly if we used to be better friends. When people do want to talk, I don't just reply to everything with "ok" like they're wasting my time. I never thought of friendship as something that had to be earned, but I guess that was an incorrect notion.
My ass is back on the writing train. With horror, I realized that even my animal story is too anarcho-punk political for the world to ever like. Or maybe I just use too many big words.
Anyway. Yeah.

This show was epic.
I feel so great. I'm probably still stoned from the adrenaline. Or mebbe the Cultist of Ecstasy guy sitting on the sidewalk under the streetlight healed me. No, no.. let me explain. There was this pander sitting there with all these papers, and granted he's an okay artist, but he invited us over to see his "research." It was weird because it sounded like he was talking crazy, but I could understand some of what he was talking about - like when you halfway know a language but you don't know all the words. I'm sure he was thrilled to talk to me and Jon cuz no one else seemed interested. Anyway, he had a ball of this fibery stuff and I asked him what it was, he said it was yucca and gave me a green piece to chew on - sweet, sorta tastes like clover. Then I asked if I could have some of the fibers and he said sure and proceeded to show me how to make a bracelet. Ha ha ha, oh, Crazy Guy, you so nice.
Then as we started walking away, he said, "You know what it means when everyone is asleep?"

So, yeah.. three of us saw a large triangular UFO while driving around last night. We were still sober, believe it or not. It wasn't like the stories of UFO's on TV - it was sitting in one place and seemed pretty low, tilted with one angle down. Not really black, seemed more brownish, covered in lights. It didn't zoom away or do anything special - it just sort of.. faded. I usually can summon my skeptic and explain what I saw, but it doesn't seem like a trick of light (that all of us just happened to see). Nothing cool really happened, I kept looking at the sky all night after that and it was just stars. A few hours later, there was an electrical surge and power went out downtown, which could easily be chalked up to everyone running their air conditioning, it's way too muggy and hot, but the conspiracy theorist in me is excited nonetheless. Even if it's some top secret flying thingy, I feel safe writing about this because everyone thinks I'm too nuts to believe me anyway! ;)
